Had a great experience with Steve from Top 10 Excursions. We did the Teide by Night Stargazing tour. He was very informative, asked us questions about what we wanted to see and gave good recommendations.

Jasper was our tour guide. He was highly informative and well organised. He knew a lot about Tenerife and the history and geography of the island.

He was very good explaining what we would see through the telescopes and gave an outstanding demonstration of the constellations. Seeing these more southerly constellations (we are from Ireland) was the highlight.

All in all - well worthwhile.

What to bring

  • You will need a warm jacket and trousers as it can get very cold up Mount Teide especially as you wont be moving too much whilst doing the stargazing.
  • Your mobile phone to take photos.

Your journey begins with a convenient pick up from your accommodation in the South of Tenerife and as far north as Los Gigantes.

After sunset, you'll relocate to a prime spot within Teide National Park for stargazing.

Is food provided?

  • No

Are their toilet facilities?

  • Due to the location of the stargazing being away from light pollution, there are no toilet facilities on this tour.

Will I be able to see during the stargazing?

  • It will be near pitch black during the stargazing.
  • Provided you don't look at any light sources e.g. car headlights, your eyes will adjust and you'll be able to see just fine.
  • Please take a torch or use your phone light if you do need to walk anywhere.

Will I be able to take photos on my phone?

  • Yes, absolutely.
  • Also, if you're skillful enough, you can put your phone on the longest exposure setting (usually 30 seconds) take a photo without moving the camera the entire time. It can be done. Here is one that we took outselves on our mobile
